Description

The lodge to the south of Holme Eden was built between 1833 and 1837 for Peter Dixon. It features red sandstone ashlar walls and a graduated slate roof with stone chimney stacks. The building is one storey high and consists of three bays. An enclosed gabled porch has a moulded entrance surround with a panel above for a coat-of-arms, and an oak plank door with a mullioned fanlight. The casement windows, which have square leaded lights, are adorned with chamfered surrounds and hood-moulds. The listing also includes a contemporary extension at the rear.
