Description
This is a lodge built 1833-35 for William Parker, originally as an entrance to Warwick Hall. It is constructed of red sandstone ashlar with a slate roof and a brick chimney stack. The lodge is single-storied, with two bays. It features a plinth course with pilasters at the corners, a moulded cornice that extends around the sides to form pedimented gables. Pilaster surrounds are present at the entrance, and the sash windows have moulded surrounds and glazing bars. The lodge was necessitated by a change in the alignment of the turnpike road, and the construction of Warwick Bridge, following the rebuilding of Warwick Hall in 1828.
