Description
The wall and gate in front of Kirkland Hall date from the early 18th century and are made of painted ashlar. The low wall features rusticated end piers and pilastered gateposts topped with pineapple finials. A wrought-iron gate and surround, decorated with spear motifs, is set beneath a scrolled overthrow. The 20th-century railings on top of the wall are not of particular interest. This structure is listed partly for its group value with Kirkland Hall.
