Description
The George Sibson Tomb Chest, located southwest of the Church of St Kentigern, dates from 1715 and features later inscriptions for members of the Sibson family. It is made of red sandstone ashlar and has a rectangular shape with a chamfered plinth and plain side panels. The top slab has a chamfered moulded edge. The tomb chest is adorned with a carved coat of arms and inscriptions commemorating George Sibson, who died in 1715, his father Thomas Sibson, who died in 1726, and other family members.
