Description

This is a late 18th and early 19th century farmhouse, which has been converted into a house and two cottages, with an adjoining barn. The main farmhouse section was originally built in the late 18th century, with a 19th-century front extension. The exterior is largely rock-faced stucco, with a 19th-century eaves cornice and broad, moulded angle pilasters on a moulded plinth. It has a graduated greenslate roof with coped gables and roughcast chimney stacks. The barn is constructed from calciferous sandstone rubble and has a corrugated asbestos roof.

The building is two storeys high and has two bays of double span, with a right-angled barn to the rear. It has sash windows with glazing bars set within painted stone architraves. A stucco porch with a panelled door and patterned fanlight is on the left return wall. The right return wall contains a 20th-century panelled door and sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. A rear doorway provides access to No.3 Seaton Mill Cottages. The barn features a central segmental cart doorway and flanking doorways, all beneath a loft doorway and slit vents. A doorway closest to the house gives access to No.4 Seaton Mill Cottages.

Inside the farmhouse, there is a dividing hall with cupolas. The original front wall retains one sash window with glazing bars. A winder stair has patterned cast iron rails and wall niches flanking a plaster panel. Also present are 19th-century panelled doors and moulded plaster ceilings.
