Description

Camerton Hall is a house dating from the early 19th century, with alterations made in 1910. It stands on the site of a former medieval tower house. The exterior is rendered with incised stucco, accentuated by string courses, and is topped by a green slate roof with stucco and rendered chimney stacks. The house is two storeys with an attic, and originally presented a four-bay facade, with later rear extensions. The front features a panelled entrance door with a patterned overlight and side lights containing glazing bars, set within a Tuscan doorcase. The central bays are recessed, flanked by bowed bays. Most windows are currently boarded over, except for two sash windows with glazing bars and attic sash windows in plain reveals. Return walls have sash windows with glazing bars in simple reveals. A two-storey, five-bay extension to the rear incorporates a bowed wall and contains sash windows with glazing bars.
