Description
No. 64 Upper Harlestone is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 17th century with alterations from the 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias and features a thatched roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan, and the building has a two-window range of casements with leaded lights set under flat arches. The entrance is located to the right and is accompanied by a 19th-century porch. The gable parapets are made of ashlar, with brick stacks at each end.
To the right, there is an early 19th-century two-storey wing that also has a two-window range of casements with leaded lights and a slate roof. The left gable includes two 2-light stone mullions with leaded lights and two single-light attic windows with stone surrounds. Inside, there is a late 17th-century fireplace in the left room, featuring a four-centred moulded stone head and surround, along with two early 19th-century bread ovens in the kitchen.
