Description
Church Cottage is a cottage dating from the 18th century, which was remodelled and enlarged around 1930. It is constructed of coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, topped with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The building has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys high with three bays. The doorway in the left bay features a wooden lintel and a 20th-century glazed door. To the right, there is a three-light window with a wooden lintel, wooden mullions, and an iron casement, and a similar window is found in the right bay. A 20th-century French window is located in the second bay from the right. On the first floor, there are three-light windows with wooden lintels, wooden mullions, and iron casements. The left bay of this block is said to have been added around 1930, along with a cross wing to the left (west). The interior, remodelled around 1930, includes a staircase and fireplaces from that period. The cottage is included for its group value.
