Description

Mold Cottage is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, topped with a thatched roof and featuring a central brick chimney stack. It stands two storeys high and has two bays.

On the rear side, there is a small one-light window with a wooden lintel located in the right bay of the ground floor. The first floor has two 2-light windows, each with wooden lintels and original iron casements. The street-facing side has ground floor windows only, each consisting of three lights with wooden lintels and iron casements. There is a doorway on each side, both with wooden lintels and plank doors.

Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace that includes a bread oven. The staircase dates from the 19th century.
