Description

Gates, gatepiers, and retaining walls located approximately 180 meters southeast of the garden front of Lamport Hall, likely dating from the early 18th century. They are constructed from regular coursed lias, ashlar, and wrought iron. The structure features a pair of gatepiers that have a pulvinated frieze and a moulded cornice topped with ball finials. These gatepiers are connected by a pair of gates adorned with scrolls and foliage. The retaining walls attached to both gatepiers were originally part of an 18th-century raised walk.
