Description

House. Dating to the late 17th century, with alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The house is constructed of coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, with a plain-tile roof, brick end stacks. It has a three-unit plan, two storeys and an attic. The facade has a seven-window range. A central six-panel, part-glazed door sits within a 20th-century gabled porch, flanked by narrow eight-pane sash windows. Similar windows are positioned either side of the central first-floor window. Otherwise, the ground floor windows are quartered sashes, while the first floor has twelve-pane sashes. All windows have blue brick sills and wood lintels. There are three gabled roof dormers. A central projecting stair turret extends to the rear. Attached to the rear left is a single-storey outbuilding range, featuring a datestone inscribed ‘WS/1792’. The interior contains a fine dog-leg staircase ascending from the ground floor to the attic, with fat turned balusters and ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams. There are six-panel doors with HL hinges. An early to mid-18th century wood eaved fireplace surround is in an upper room. An adjoining closet retains original plank doors, hinges, and latches. A stone cellar is also present.

House. Possibly dating to the 16th or 17th century, with 19th-century alterations. It is built of coursed rubble, with a steeply pitched tiled roof, kneelers, and stone coping to the gables. The house follows a T-shaped plan and has two storeys, featuring flush sash windows with glazing bars in moulded frames. A single-storey north wing extends at a right angle.
