Description

The Manor House is a manor house, dating from 1655 with 19th-century additions. The building is constructed of regular coursed lias stone with a slate roof. It has a three-unit plan, with a cross wing projecting to the right. The house has two storeys with an attic and a basement. The facade features a four-window range of 3-light stone mullioned windows. A 19th-century entrance is located between the window to the left of centre, featuring pilasters supporting a plain entablature with a pediment over a six-panelled door with glazed top lights. Stone steps lead to the entrance, accompanied by wrought iron railings. Basement entrances are located to the left of the main entrance and to the left of the cross wing, both with stone lintels and plank doors. All windows are stone mullioned with sash and casement lights, including those in the basement. Ashlar gable parapets are present, along with a dormer to the left of the cross wing, and brick stacks at the ends of the building. Datestones inscribed "TLN/1655" and "JBH/1869" are visible in the cross wing gable. 19th-century extensions are situated at the rear of the property.
