Description
The Old Bakehouse is an early 18th-century house located on the south side of Draughton Road in Maidwell. The house is constructed of regular coursed lias stone, which has been painted, and has a thatched roof. Originally built with a two-unit plan, it is a single-storey building with an attic, featuring a two-window front with casement windows and wooden lintels. An eyebrow dormer is located on the right side. A 20th-century door is positioned centrally. Brick stacks are present at both ends of the building. A range of late 18th and 19th-century buildings stands to the left. The rear elevation is similar. The interior was not inspected, but a room to the left of the entrance contains an open fireplace with a bressumer and chamfered ceiling beams.
