Description
The gatepiers and gates at the entrance to Manor House Farmhouse, along with the adjoining walls, date from the late 17th century. They are made of ironstone ashlar and feature square rusticated piers with moulded entablatures and ball finials. The entrance is flanked by 19th-century iron double gates. To the right, there is a wall from the 17th century, built with squared coursed ironstone, which has a section that extends at right angles towards the house and is lower, topped with 19th-century black tile coping. To the left of the main gateway, another 17th-century wall made of squared coursed ironstone with stone coping runs along the roadside and then turns at right angles along the boundary with Rectory Farmhouse, extending back towards the house as far as an opening on the north side. This structure is part of a walled enclosure within the grounds of Manor House Farmhouse.
