Description
Nos 8, 8A, 9, and 9A on George Row are 18th-century buildings that have been altered. They feature a stucco-faced front with two storeys and a central pediment. The façade includes seven sash windows with keystones. In the center, there is a porch supported by rusticated Doric columns. The ground floor has modern shop windows. Inside, there is a notable staircase from the late 17th century and a ceiling dating from around 1740. The late medieval cellars are distinguished by octagonal columns and rib vaulting. These buildings are part of a group that includes the Judge's Lodgings, Sessions House, County Hall, and County Council Offices.
