Description
Anyho Weir Bridge number 188 is an accommodation bridge built around 1780-1790, with minor alterations made in the 20th century. It was likely designed by the engineer Samuel Simcock. The bridge is constructed of stone and features an outward-curved batter on its plan. It has a single elliptical arch that includes a keystone and a drip mould around the arch ring. The solid parapets are slightly cambered and have end piers topped with stone copings. The towpath continues through the arch, and the bridge dates from the original construction period of the Oxford Canal.
