Description
Eastgate House is a Grade II listed building located on the northeast side of Derngate. It was built in the early to mid 19th century and is designed in a Regency neo-classical style. The house features a three-storey main block with a frieze, cornice, and parapet. Originally, the wing was two storeys but has been raised to three while still retaining the frieze and cornice above the first floor. The wing is slightly recessed and placed diagonally. The windows are arranged as two sets of two sashes in reveals. On the ground floor, there is a Tuscan porch and a canted bay on the left, along with another canted bay and a window on the right. The first and second floors are adorned with giant pilasters topped with a pediment. Eastgate House is part of a group with Nos 6 to 10 Cheyne Walk.
