Description

The building occupied by Ivan Cawood and Company, known as the auction rooms, is a former Methodist chapel constructed in 1824. It is designed in the Neoclassical style and features a stucco exterior with a Welsh slated roof that is set behind a parapet and pediment. The building is two storeys high and includes a plinth and cornice. The central entrance consists of a two-fold door set within a rusticated stone surround, flanked by two pilasters. Inside, there is a gallery that extends along three sides, supported by cast iron colonnettes.
