Description
The Old Manse and attached chapel, which is now a house and outbuilding, was founded in 1662 and mainly dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone with a slate roof and has a two-unit plan. It is two storeys high and features a three-window range of 19th-century casements beneath wooden lintels. The central 19th-century part-glazed door, also under a wooden lintel, is sheltered by a 20th-century glazed porch. There are brick stacks at each end of the building. The former chapel, which is attached to the right, has a three-window range of 19th-century wooden cross windows under wooden lintels and an ashlar gable parapet. The rear of the building is similar and includes a 19th-century lean-to addition. The interior has not been inspected, but the chapel may still have a gallery. Some of the windows in the manse have panelled reveals.
