Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, which was remodeled and had its windows changed in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of squared ironstone with limestone dressings and has a Welsh slate roof, featuring coped gables. The building has 19th-century gable and ridge stacks, as well as a coped stone gable stack shared with the adjoining Jesus Hospital to the west.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of four bays in a single range. All openings have cambered lintels. The front elevation has, on the left, a boarded-up doorway with an overlight, flanked by single plain sash windows. To the right, there is a half-glazed door with an overlight, and beyond that, a canted late 19th-century bay window. Above, there are four plain sash windows.
The rear elevation, facing the street, features a four-panel door with an overlight on the left, flanked by a single glazing bar sash on the left and two similar sashes on the right. Above, there are three similar sashes, one on the left and two on the right. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
