Description
No. 13 Chancery Lane is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is built of squared coursed limestone and has a concrete tile roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan. The house has two storeys with an attic and features a three-window range of leaded cross casements on the first floor, which are set under gauged stone heads. On the ground floor, there are early 19th-century canted wooden bay windows with sash windows and glazing bars on both the left and right sides. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with glazed toplights, also under a gauged stone head with a flat wooden hood. Above, there are two flat-topped roof dormers with leaded casements. The gable parapet, made of ashlar, has kneelers on the left side and aligns with the party wall. To the right, there is a brick stack with raised bands. Some of the leaded windows contain crown glass. The interior has not been inspected.
