Description
35 and 36 Red Lodge Road are two houses built in the late 17th century or early 18th century. They are constructed from squared coursed limestone and feature thatched roofs. Originally designed with two-unit plans, these single-storey houses have attics. The front facade consists of a four-window range of 19th-century style casements with wooden lintels. Above, there are three similar casements in the attic, set beneath eyebrow dormers. Between the windows, there are two 20th-century doors, also with wooden lintels, and each door is sheltered by a 20th-century wooden porch. The houses have brick stacks at the ridge and ends, and the rear elevation mirrors the front with eyebrow dormers. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have remnants of open fireplaces and beams featuring notched ogee stops.
