Description

Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with extensions from the 18th century and a remodel in the late 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a thatch roof. Originally designed with a three-unit plan, it has been altered to an L-shape. The building has two storeys and the entrance front consists of two ranges of seven windows arranged at right angles. The windows, which are irregularly spaced, are 19th-century casements set beneath wooden lintels. Two first-floor windows in the north range are located beneath shallow eyebrow dormers, and there is a corner window at the intersection of the two ranges. A 19th-century door, also under a wooden lintel, is situated next to a wide corner. There are brick stacks at the ridge of the north range and at the end of the east range, with the north range dating to the late 17th century and the east range to the 18th century. The rear elevation of the east range features a similar four-window arrangement with a central eyebrow dormer and a gable on the left. The interior has not been inspected but likely includes remnants of an open fireplace.
