Description
The Main Lodge at Dingley Hall, along with an attached pump and outbuilding, is a lodge house dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone with limestone ashlar dressings and features a patterned plain tile roof. The building has a T-shaped plan and is a single storey high. The main front has a two-window range with a cross wing to the left. On the left side, there is a canted stone bay with sash windows that have glazing bars, while the right side has a sash window with a moulded stone surround. The corners of the building are accentuated with rusticated quoins. The roof is gabled with plain bargeboards and has a central stone stack. There is a blank shield in the gable. The right elevation mirrors the main front with twin gables and features a ribbed and studded door. At the rear, there is a cast iron pump and an outbuilding that has four door openings and a mono-pitched roof, connected to the main lodge by a low wall. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to retain simple 19th-century features.
