Description
Thatched Cottage is a row of five houses, now functioning as four dwellings, originally built in the mid 18th century and remodelled in the mid 19th century. The buildings are constructed of squared coursed ironstone and topped with thatch roofs. They are two storeys high and form a nine-window range featuring leaded casements set beneath rendered brick arches with keyblocks. Between the windows, there are five 19th-century plank doors, also under rendered brick arches with keyblocks, each topped with 19th-century bracketed hoods that have plain tile hipped roofs. There are brick stacks located at the ridge and ends of the buildings. The gable ends on the left and right sides display 19th-century bargeboards. The interiors have not been inspected but may still contain remnants of open fireplaces.
