Description
Surrenden House is a house originally built with a three-unit plan, dated 1715 according to the datestone marked B/J/1715/RE. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high and has a five-window range, with late 20th-century replacement casements; the ground floor windows have wooden lintels. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door of early 19th-century style, topped with glazed lights and sheltered by a 20th-century hood. The house has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, along with brick stacks at the ridge and left end. The datestone is located to the left of the centre. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension from the 20th century made of stone and thatch. Inside, the house features a chamfered spine beam.
