Description

Holy Name of Jesus Church, built between 1879 and 1879 by architect Arthur Blomfield, features a Byzantine quincunx plan. The church is constructed of stone with a stone slate roof and has 13th century style windows. It has a square center with an octagonal tower supported by clustered red stone piers. Each of the four low corner spaces has pointed arches, and there are three lancet lights in each gable. The church is part of a group that includes 1 to 13 (odd) Stoke Hill and the Waggon and Horse Public House.
