Description
Number 47 and the attached house is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century, with early and mid-19th century alterations. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone and has a slate roof. It features a three-unit lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic.
The front has a four-window range of early 19th century unhorned sash windows of varying sizes, all with glazing bars and set under wooden lintels. To the right of the centre, there is a six-panel door with glazed toplights, also under a stone lintel. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and a finial base on the right side. There is a large brick and stone chimney stack at the ridge and a 19th century brick stack on the left. The right gable has casement windows under wooden lintels, and there is evidence of an earlier roof pitch in the gable ends. The rear elevation includes some sash windows and a central mid-19th century extension. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have ceiling beams and panelled window reveals.
