Description

No. 72 on West Street is an early 17th-century house that stands two storeys tall. It is constructed from coursed rubble and features a stone slate roof. A notable aspect of the building is its impressive stone chimney, which has paired flues and an entablature at the top. The front of the house includes a two-storey, five-light canted bay window with stone mullions and a drip mould, topped by a steep hipped roof. The entrance is a plain doorway located at the eastern end, while there is a passage entrance with a segmental arch on the western side. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 2 to 36 (even) and 42 to 46A (even) and 52 to 98 (even).
