Description
No. 1 High Street is a house that originated in the 17th century, with a bay on the right side that was extended in the mid-19th century. The right bay features a timber frame with brick infill, which is colourwashed on the front. The right gable was rebuilt in the 18th century using red and vitreous brick, topped with similar coping. The house has an old tile roof and stands two storeys high. It has three-light barred wooden casements. The 19th-century extension, made of colourwashed brick, has a slate roof that is hipped to the left and includes a chimney made of white brick. This extension also has two storeys and three bays. The left bay features four-pane sash windows, while the right bay has a three-pane sash window above a flush-panelled door with a semi-circular fanlight. The windows have white-painted voussoir heads, and the door is topped with a white-painted brick arch.
