Description
No. 3 High Street is a house dating from the late 16th to 17th century that has been renovated. It features a timber frame with diagonal braces and brick infill, including some herringbone patterns. The building has a rubble stone plinth, and the left gable has been rebuilt in brick around a stone chimney stack. The roof is covered with corrugated iron over thatch, and there are flanking brick chimneys that were rebuilt in the 20th century. The house is L-shaped, has one and a half storeys, and consists of two bays. The windows are 20th-century barred wooden casements, with a three-light window on the ground floor to the left, a four-light window to the right, and a two-light window in the roof. There is a 20th-century door to the left in the rebuilt brick wall. At the rear, there is a similar wing with a 20th-century lean-to extension in the rear angle, and an outbuilding is attached to the far gable of the rear wing.
