Description

Burnaby House is a house dating to the late 16th and 17th centuries, with alterations made in the early 20th century. The front timber frame to the first floor is close-studded with whitewashed plaster infill. The rear is timber-framed with brick infill, while the remainder of the structure has been rebuilt in brick. The upper part of the right gable is pebbledashed above a brick frieze. The roof is half-hipped and covered with old tiles, with a brick chimney located between the left bays.

The house is two storeys high and has four bays. It features early 20th-century leaded casement windows, paired on the first floor and with cross casements on the ground floor. An original 2-light oak window, now blocked, is situated in the upper left-hand bay. This window has moulded jambs, a central mullion and sill, and two diamond mullions. A six-panel door is located to the right of the second bay. A small wing projects from the rear of the right-hand bay. The interior has been extensively renovated.
