Description
Nos 37 and 37A on West Street are a pair of 18th century buildings with a two-storey and attic structure made of brick. They feature a moulded eaves cornice and an old tile roof, with a modern dormer. At the back of No 37, there is a timber-framed wing. The first floor has two three-light casements and a central two-light casement, each with ogee glazed top lights and stucco tympana in segmental openings. The ground floor has a plain early 19th century shop front, which has been altered, with a plain frieze and cornice running across. No 37 has a flush door with a reeded flame design and a flat hood supported by console brackets, while No 37A features a five-panel door to the right. Nos 27 to 33 (odd) and Nos 37 to 51 (odd) are part of a group.
