Description

Box Cottage is an 18th-century house that has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with thin beams and whitewashed brick infill. The roof is made of slate and has an altered eaves line, with external brick stacks at both ends and another stack in the center. The building is two stories tall and has four irregular bays. The windows are 19th-century wooden casements, with two and three lights. The left-hand bay projects, while the second bay has a canted bay window topped with a lean-to slate roof that extends over the door to the left. There is a county fire insurance plaque above the door, and a doorway between the right-hand bays has been blocked.
