Description
Number 14, now part of the Crown Hotel, is an 18th-century building located on the south side of Amersham High Street. It features a brick front that was added to an earlier house and has an old tiled roof with a central brick chimney and a parapet with a brick band. On the left side, there is a rainwater head dated 1734. The building has two storeys and a doorway on the right with an early 18th-century surround that includes panelled pilasters, carved console brackets, and an enriched cornice hood. To the left of the doorway is a modern three-light casement window with a segmental arch. There is a second door with a late 18th-century cornice hood and another casement window on the far left. The first floor has two double-hung sash windows, and there is a blank recess above the door on the right, with all windows featuring segmental arches.
