Description
This is a statue of Pluto and Proserpine, located approximately 80 meters to the west of Waddesdon Manor. It dates from the 18th century and is of Italian origin. The statue is carved from marble and depicts Pluto carrying Proserpine, while Ceres clutches at her daughter's legs from behind. The composition features a tall, upright group, with Proserpine extending one arm. The statue is set on a stone pedestal that has shaped panels.
