Description

Bright Well in the garden at Number 24 is a well house dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of old red brick and features a handmade tile roof with gable ends. The small structure measures approximately 6 feet by 6 feet. It has a board door fitted with large wrought iron hinges and wooden lintels. The well may have been relined above the water line in the 19th century. This well is known to have existed since the Middle Ages but dried out during the drought of 1788.
