Description

Little Summeries and the attached outbuildings to Number 45 is a building that dates from the 18th century and is an extension of a 17th-century timber-framed house. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped old tile roof with projecting eaves. The building has two storeys, with a four-flush panel door on the left that is topped by a bracketed hood. To the left, there is a four-light casement window, and on the first floor, there is a three-light casement window, both now lacking arches or lintels.

A recessed wing on the left has a hipped old tile roof and includes one three-light casement window on each floor, with a segmental arch on the ground floor and a lintel on the first floor. The flank wall of the front wing features two-light casement windows on each floor and a door on the right that leads to an open wooden porch. The flank wall of the recessed wing has modern tile hanging with exposed timber framing below. The rear gable also displays timber framing with brick infill.

Attached to the main building is a single-storey L-shaped range of sheds, which have brick walls facing The Platt, along with weatherboard and old tile roofs. This building is said to have been a former chair factory.
