Description
Home Farmhouse is a house dated 1704, as indicated by a plaque between the first-floor windows. It is constructed of rubble stone with an old tile roof and features brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has an L-plan layout, with the right-hand bay projecting and gabled towards the street. It is two storeys high and has 20th-century barred casements under modern lintels, including a 3-light window in the left-hand bay and a 2-light window in the return wall of the right-hand bay, as well as a window above the door on the centre of the first floor. The entrance features a 20th-century barred and glazed door beneath a flat wooden hood supported by brackets. There is also a sun fire insurance plaque next to the date plaque. At the rear, there is a wing that was formerly a cottage from the 17th to 18th century, made of rubble stone with a corrugated iron roof and a central stone stack. A modern link block and extension have been added to the east of the rear wing.
