Description
Weedon Lodge is a house dated 1781, as noted on a stone tablet on the northwest front. It is constructed of red brick with a projecting plinth and features a parapet with plain stone coping and gauged brick heads above the windows. The roof is an old tile, hipped with two spans, and there are brick chimneys. The building stands three storeys tall and has three bays.
The northwest and southwest fronts display three-pane sash windows, with the second floor windows being smaller. The southwest side features a central six-panelled door with a semi-circular radiating fanlight, set in plain reveals and surrounded by a fluted architrave. A wooden porch with Ionic columns supports a frieze adorned with delicate roundels and a moulded cornice. The northwest front has a central half-glazed door with a similar fanlight and a wooden doorcase featuring Doric pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice.
On the southeast front, there are French doors at the centre of both the ground and first floors, leading to a two-tier verandah supported by slender wooden columns and trellis work, topped with a lead roof. There are later extensions on the northeast side.
