Description
Chestnuts Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, which has been significantly renovated and extended in the mid-20th century. The structure features a timber frame with 20th-century brick infill, some of which is patterned, and a rubble stone plinth. It has an old tile roof and a chimney, located between the right bays, which is partly made of thin brick but has been rebuilt. The building is designed in a T-plan with 20th-century extensions added to the left end and in the rear angles. It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The windows are irregular 20th-century diamond leaded casements, and there are 20th-century double doors in the centre bay. A range of former outbuildings, now used as a garage and kitchen, project from the front of the left bay. At the rear, there is a single storey 20th-century extension to the left and a 20th-century glazed garden room to the right, with the wall above the garden room being tile hung. Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered spine beams.
