Description

Ware Farmhouse is a 17th-century house located on Church Street in Marsh Gibbon. The house is built of coursed rubble stone with timber lintels over the openings. A cart entry is situated on the left-hand side, featuring a timber-framed section above with a gable facing the street and brick infill. A rubble stone side wall extends to the far left. The roof is covered with old tiles. A central stack has been rebuilt in 17th-century brick, featuring two square shafts set diagonally. The main block of the house has two storeys and two bays, with two 3-light leaded casement windows in each bay. A similar casement window is located in the timber-framed section. A central lobby entry has double-panelled doors. The front garden is enclosed by curving cast iron railings, decorated with diaper and fret patterns, and flanked by brick walls attached to the house.
