Description

Forge House is a house dating to the 17th century, with later alterations. It comprises two distinct phases of construction. The two left-hand bays are timber-framed with whitewashed brick infill. The right-hand section is built of coursed rubble stone with timber lintels over the openings. The roof is thatched. A large stack of thin brick, featuring pilasters, is located to the left of the stone section, incorporating a lobby entry below. The house is one-and-a-half storeys high and has three bays, with irregular 2 and 3-light wooden casements; the upper floor casements are set within the thatched roof. A 20th-century door is present, along with a small staircase window in the upper left corner.
