Description
Barn Vicarage is a house dating from the late 16th century that has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with brick infill and a plinth, along with brick pilasters with moulded caps at the front corners. The roof is covered with old tiles and has external flanking chimneys. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The windows are leaded casements, with four-light windows in the outer bays, a three-light window in the centre, and an additional two-light window to the right of the centre above the door. Three first-floor windows retain their old leading and glass, with one pane signed by Peter Duncombe from 1661. The entrance has a 20th-century board door. Inside, there are stop-chamfered spine beams, and the fireplace on the left has chamfered and stopped stone jambs. The property is mentioned in a land terrier from 1607.
