Description
Jasmine Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations and extensions from the 17th century and later. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill, and the far bay has been rebuilt in whitewashed brick. The bay closest to the street has curved braces and a gable end with a jettied first floor, topped by a thatched roof. There are 17th-century brick chimneys, with the one between the near bays having two rectangular shafts, while the chimney at the far end has two square shafts set diagonally. The building is L-shaped, with one and a half storeys and three bays. The south side has irregular two and three-light wooden and leaded casements, with those on the first floor cut into the thatch. There are two doors on this side. The north side features irregular leaded casements and a gabled projection on the right-hand bay. The gable facing the street has paired leaded casements on the first floor.
