Description

The building is a farmhouse, dating to the early 17th century. It was altered and significantly refronted in 1675, with further alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The ground floor is constructed of dressed stone with rendered voussoir heads to the windows, while the first floor is pebble-dashed. The roof is tiled, with some fishscale patterning, and has boxed eaves with a moulded rail representing the former cove. There are two large brick chimney stacks from the 17th century at the rear; the left-hand stack has flat pilasters, and the right-hand stack features 'V' pilasters. The farmhouse is two storeys and has an attic, with three irregular bays. It has 20th-century barred wooden casement windows. A flush-panelled front door, between the left-hand windows, is set within a wooden architrave frame and has a barred rectangular fanlight above, with a rendered panel displaying the coat of arms of Edmund and Mary Verney. Single-storey extensions flank the front. A 19th-century brick and tile L-shaped range extends to the rear. Attic windows are located in the gables.
