Description

This is a 17th-century L-shaped house located on Sandhill Road in East Claydon. A rear extension was added in the 19th century, and the front facade was also remodelled during that period. The house is timber-framed with brick infill on the rear and sides, and red brick to the front, with a rendered plinth. The front has an old tile roof, while the rear is thatched. A chimney on the left side features grouped shafts of 17th-century brick, and a smaller chimney of similar brick is in the front right-hand corner. The house is 1½ storeys high, with two bays. It has 20th-century three-light leaded casement windows; those on the ground floor have segmental heads, while those on the first floor are set within gabled dormers in the eaves. Entrances are located on the sides and rear of the building.
