Description

The Nursery, located to the west of the Manor House in Chenies, is a brick building dating from around 1530. It is two storeys tall with an attic and was originally constructed to serve as a nursery for the Russell children. The building originally had three bays, but it is now roofless, and the western bay has been demolished. The brickwork is in English bond, and the crow-step gables have been restored. The south elevation features a central bay with a projecting staircase wing, although the stairs are no longer present. There were former lateral stacks in the outer bays and brick arches over the fireplaces. The windows are framed in oak.
