Description

This is a former house and barn, now a house and studio, dating from the 17th century with significant alterations in the early to mid-18th century. The original house is located to the left, with a 17th-century timber frame visible at the rear. The front facade and the adjoining barn are of 18th-century construction. The building is constructed of plum-coloured brick with red brick dressings, and has an old tile roof, hipped to the right and with a coped gable to the left. Brick stacks are present.

The main house, incorporating sections of the barn, has six bays. The bay to the right features a gabled projection, formerly a waggon entry. The two bays on the left have 18th-century wooden mullion and transom windows with leaded lights and segmental heads; a modern window occupies the ground floor right in place of a former doorway. Similar 20th-century windows are found in bays 4 and 6. Dormers with paired barred casements are situated over bays 1, 2, and 4. Bays 3 and 5 contain six-panel doors with rectangular fanlights and cambered heads. A single leaded window with a transom sits above the door in bay 5. Blocked ventilation slits indicate the building's former use as a barn. A high 20th-century window is a prominent feature of the studio located to the right. A Sun Fire Insurance plaque is located in bay 2.

The rear of the 17th-century section of the house retains some moulded oak mullion windows. To the rear right is a range of outbuildings, featuring a central timber-framed section.
