Description
Dorney Court is a Grade I listed building dating from around 1500, with later alterations. It features a timber-framed structure with red brick infill and an old tile roof. The east front, which serves as the entrance, is essentially symmetrical and consists of two storeys with five gabled and barge-boarded bays. The central bay includes an open porch with a four-centred arch and an oriel window above. The first floor of the left-hand gable extends outward. The building is topped with bold star-shaped chimneys. Inside, there is an original 15th-century hall that boasts a fine roof with arched braces, a large fireplace with tracery, and linenfold panelling sourced from Faversham Abbey in Kent.
